ChatGPT — Ways I Will Use And Will Not Use
And that’s fair and square
OpenAI’s ChatGPT is today’s miracle. It’s a learning tool, a writing tool, and one for research. It is a magical tool that responds to the most whimsical questions you put to it. And in this fast-paced digital world where speed is of the essence, it responds immediately
Like millions who have logged in to ChatGPT (https://chat.openai.com/) to check it out, so did I.
ChatGPT is polite and accommodating. Works tirelessly for you. Ask a question, or ask for a written article. It will at first give a brief version, then a short version, and next a longer version. It generates and regenerates without a murmur.
If you alter the query to seek more information again ChatGPT responds. I have ChatGPT responses on different aspects of Yoga:
o What are the benefits of Yoga for the elderly,
o Why is Deep Breathing an important part of Yoga?
o A note on the history of Yoga,
o Who are the well-known Yoga Gurus?
The amount of related information you can get on a topic is huge. All delivered in neat clear sentences.
When ChatGPT Disappointed —
To some queries ChatGPT gave the wrong answer!
Query: What day of the week was January 28, 1960?
Response — Friday …Wrong
Then I asked old man Google
Response: Thursday…Bulls-eye!
And hear is a question it was unable to answer as it said that its “knowledge cut-off is 2021”
Query:-What international awards did the film RRR win recently?
Response: I am sorry, I am not aware of any recent international awards that the s film RRR has won as my knowledge cut off is 2021 and I couldn’t find any recent awards for this film as of my knowledge cut off date. Could you provide me more information about the film RRR and the context of the question?
Google of course had a hoard of information with links to substantiate it.
For those interested, RRR is an Indian film in the Telugu language released in March 2022. It has won 15 international awards so far.

Ways I’ll Use ChatGPT -
It will be my go-to tool for research on an article.
I will ask it for the basis for the facts it gives. Especially if it has an impact on humans health & well being
It is fast becoming my FIRST go-to tool.
But I will go back to Google. For more. For links to substantiate what ChatGPT doled out instantaneously. Google is older and richly knowledgeable. It makes sense to double check with Google.
ChatGPT will also be my tool for a final call on an article I have written. I will check if I have covered all points on the topic.
Ways I’ll Not Use ChatGPT -
I will never copy stuff from ChatGPT and pass it off as my writing.
Why? Because of the self-confidence, or belief that we writers have. That we have a writing talent. A way with words, And that nobody else can quite write like us.
Writers worth their salt will never pass off machine –writing as their own.
I am not a successful writer (yet!) on Medium with hundreds of claps for my articles and thousands of followers. Distant from that. But as told in my previous article below I am an old hand at this.
I have written the hard way, pounding on a manual typewriter. Followed by sending the typed-out articles by snail mail and waiting for days for a reply. Most of the time it was Bingo…accepted and paid for!
So like all here I had that urge, early in life, to write. And like so many others of my ilk I will never cut and paste stuff from ChatGPT to my article. I am too conceited for that.
